Dehaze

A control that removes or adds atmospheric haze by estimating and correcting for scattered light.

Measured in %

In depth

Dehaze models the light scattered between camera and subject and subtracts it, which restores contrast and colour saturation in distant areas. Used heavily it produces dark, oversaturated skies and heavy noise in the shadows. Negative values add haze, which is a quick way to create depth or a soft, atmospheric mood.

Examples in practice

Dehaze at +30 restores a distant mountain range that had faded into pale blue-grey murk.
