Jib
A counterweighted arm that raises and sweeps a camera through an arc, giving elevation and movement from a fixed base.

A jib or crane produces the rising reveal and the descending approach that give a scene scale, and it can place a camera where no tripod fits — above a crowd, over a table, out beyond an edge. Remote heads allow the camera to be panned and tilted independently while the arm moves.
