The technical problem is nearly always dynamic range and mixed colour: a window is many stops brighter than the room and a different colour temperature from its lamps. The answers are bracketing and fusion, gelling supplementary lights to match, or shooting at dusk when interior and exterior brightness converge.

Photographing a hotel lobby twenty minutes after sunset balances the window view against the room's own lighting.
