A time-lapse in which the camera moves substantially between frames, producing accelerated motion through space.

In depth
Where a time-lapse compresses time from a fixed position, a hyperlapse compresses a journey. Each frame is shot from a measured step along a path, with a fixed reference point kept in the same position in the frame. Stabilisation in post is essential, since even careful placement leaves frame-to-frame jitter.
Examples in practice
Stepping half a metre between frames along a bridge produces a sweeping accelerated travelling shot.
