Texture Slider

A control that increases or decreases medium-scale detail while deliberately leaving very fine detail and broad tones alone.

Measured in %

In depth

Texture sits between clarity and sharpening in the frequencies it addresses, and crucially it does not affect noise or the smoothest tonal areas. That makes it far safer than clarity for portraits, where negative texture reduces skin irregularity while eyelashes and iris detail stay crisp.

Examples in practice

Texture at −30 on skin smooths blemishes while the eyebrows and lashes remain completely unaffected.
