An electrical circuit topology in which components are connected end-to-end sequentially along a single continuous current path.

In a series connection, the exact same electric current flows through every component in sequence. The total equivalent resistance equals the sum of individual resistances, and total voltage drops equal the supply voltage.

Traditional holiday string lights connected in series where a single blown bulb breaks the circuit and extinguishes all lights.
