Ferromagnetism

A strong magnetic phenomenon in which atomic magnetic moments spontaneously align parallel into localized magnetic domains, producing permanent magnetization.

Driven by quantum mechanical exchange interactions. Above the Curie temperature T_C, thermal agitation destroys domain alignment and ferromagnetic materials become paramagnetic.
