Governing formula ΔP = F1 / A1 = F2 / A2
SI unit Pa

In depth

Forms the basis of hydraulic force multiplication: a small force applied over small area A1 creates a large output force on large area A2.

Examples in the real world

Hydraulic car lifts, hydraulic brakes in automobiles, and heavy excavation machinery.
