Inductive Reactance

The opposition offered by an inductor to alternating current flow, directly proportional to AC frequency and inductance.

Inductors allow steady DC current to pass with zero inductive reactance (X_L = 0), but strongly oppose high-frequency AC currents as frequency increases.
