Relative Colorimetric Intent
A conversion strategy that reproduces in-gamut colours exactly and clips out-of-gamut ones to the nearest reproducible value.

Because most photographs are largely inside the destination gamut, this intent usually gives the more accurate result — nothing that could be reproduced correctly is altered. Its risk is confined to the saturated extremes, where clipping several distinct colours to the same boundary value destroys detail. Black point compensation should normally be enabled with it.
Examples in practice
A portrait with neutral skin and muted clothing converts more faithfully under relative colorimetric than perceptual.
