Hybrid Viewfinder
A finder that can switch between an optical view and an electronic one, or overlay electronic information on the optical image.
In depth
The design gives a rangefinder-style optical window with bright lines for framing, plus the option of flipping a lever to see the sensor feed for exact framing and exposure. A small electronic patch can also be superimposed in the corner of the optical view for critical manual focus, combining the strengths of both approaches.
Examples in practice
A street photographer works optically to watch subjects entering the frame, then switches electronically to confirm exposure in harsh backlight.
