Darkroom
A light-tight room equipped for processing film and making prints.

The layout is traditionally divided into a dry side, holding the enlarger, easel and paper, and a wet side with the developer, stop, fix and wash trays. Keeping them separated prevents chemical splashes reaching unexposed paper. Film must be loaded in total darkness, while printing can proceed under a safelight.
Examples in practice
A converted bathroom with blackout material, a shelf for the enlarger and trays in the bath makes a workable darkroom.
