Combining Boyle's, Charles's and Avogadro's laws, it uses the universal gas constant R = 8.314 J·mol⁻¹·K⁻¹ or 0.0821 L·atm·mol⁻¹·K⁻¹, depending on units. Rearranged, it gives molar mass from a measured gas density and underlies almost every gas calculation.
Examples in the real world
One mole of gas at 273 K and 101.3 kPa occupies 22.4 L; doubling the temperature at constant pressure doubles the volume.
