Chemical properties include flammability, acidity, oxidising or reducing strength, toxicity, corrosion resistance and thermal stability. Measuring one necessarily destroys or alters the original sample, in contrast to a physical measurement, which leaves it unchanged.
Examples in the real world
Iron rusting in moist air, magnesium burning with a brilliant white flame, and gold's resistance to attack by most acids.
