Magnetic Helicity & Taylor Relaxation

In highly conductive plasmas, magnetic helicity K is conserved during magnetic reconnection. According to J.B. Taylor, a turbulent plasma relaxes to a minimum magnetic energy state (Taylor state) satisfying force-free field ∇ × B = μ B.
