Hadrons
Subatomic composite particles made of quarks and gluons held together by the strong nuclear force.
Governing formula
Strongly interacting composite particles (Baryons & Mesons)
SI unit
Composite Particle Class
In depth
Hadrons are divided into two main categories based on quark content and spin: Baryons (composed of 3 valence quarks, half-integer spin fermions like protons and neutrons) and Mesons (composed of 1 quark and 1 antiquark, integer spin bosons like pions and kaons).
Examples in the real world
Protons (uud) and neutrons (udd) serving as the most stable hadrons in the universe.
