COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course gives you the basic idea about the symmetry of molecules, concepts of atomic spectra, Photoelectron and photoacoustic spectroscopy, Rotational, vibrational, electronic, Raman, Mossbauer, nuclear, and electron spin resonance spectroscopic techniques.
Scientists all over the world are excited to explore the basic unit of matter. They want to understand how these basic units are held together and want to explore some phenomena associated with matter. In your earlier classes, you may learn about the fundamental units of matter, atoms, and molecules. Spectroscopy is a method to investigate the absorption and emission of electromagnetic radiation when atoms or molecules move from one energy level to another. Through this course, you will learn about the fundamental concepts of spectroscopy and various spectroscopic techniques, and various sophisticated instrumentation techniques used in different spectroscopic methods. You will learn the theory behind various popular spectroscopic techniques like Infrared (IR), Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), and Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) spectroscopy.
